Keep Your Thoughts and Prayers

Keep your thoughts and prayers if prayer is unbecoming to you. It sounds good. It looks pretty on paper but it should never be uttered if one doesn’t act on it.  Signs and wonders follow those who believe.

Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. ✝️Proverbs 17:28

If you are thinking of another, it may be that God put them on your mind and if you are led by the spirit (of which born again believers should be) you are given an unction to pray and possibly take action (call, visit, volunteer, support financially, etc.).

The Pharisees did a lot of showing religious face so the noise of ‘thoughts and prayers’ without action is nothing new. Please do not say you’re going to pray and don’t pray. Who knows if you may need that same prayer one day but your seed prayer to change the atmosphere was never sown.

Want to increase your prayer life? Watch the news. Watching the news should be a constant barrage of prayer because every other story is tragic, depressing, evil and sad. It’s an opportunity to pray for others.

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Matthew 12:37

Here’s a tip:
If you know you’re going to forget, get in the habit to pray right then and there so the devil doesn’t have an open door or opportunity to distract you to do something else.

As our mothers would say, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything. “My thoughts and prayers are with you,” is a mean thing to verbalize if you choose not to actually do it.
